Garden Tubs

A garden tub is a major focal point of the bathroom and it needs to have a garden tub faucet that looks good and makes a statement.  A home garden tub faucet should be compatible with the rest of the bathroom fixtures, including the sink faucets, the towel bar, hooks, and cabinet knobs.  The tub faucet should be easy to turn on and use to adjust the water temperature.

When shopping for garden tub faucets you need to be aware that not all faucets are the same.  You cannot use a sink faucet or a kitchen faucet for your garden bathtub faucet.  Besides being prohibited by some local building codes the design of the faucets are not useful for filling a tub as large as a garden tub with hot water.

Bathtub faucets mount on the tub, on the wall, on the deck that surrounds the tub, or are sometimes free standing.  When shopping for a garden tub faucet it is important to be aware of where the faucet will mount.  Tub fixtures also have various flow rates allowing some faucets to fill your garden tub faster than other faucets.  Some tub faucets have the option of a hand held shower which makes it easier to wash hair of rinse while taking a bath.  This is a nice option if you’d like a garden tub shower.

There are three main types of bathtub faucets.  Wall mounted faucets which mount directly on the wall above the bathtub.  Roman tub faucets are mounted on the deck of the tub.  Free standing faucets are mounted on the floor and have a spout that reaches over the edge of the tub.
